Dismantling the Bells

Photos taken on Monday 19th October 2015 during the dismantling of the bell fittings prior to their removal.

Removing the Bells

The bells are removed from the tower on Wednesday 21st October 2015.

The Bells Depart

The bells leave Presteigne, Monday 26th October 2015.

Painting the Frame

Work continued in the belfry. The cast iron frame had to be rubbed down and painted. We chose 2 coats of Rustoleum "Steel Grey" to lighten the belfry and complement the blue of the returning headstocks.

Installing Sound Control

Sound control is added as part of the project. This allows us to reduce the volume of the bells outside the church if we need to.

The Bells Return

On the 8th April 2016 the bells were returned to the church and placed in the porch over the weekend for everyone to see.

Reinstallation

Reinstallation work began on the 11th April 2016 and took 3 days to complete.

Rededication

A service of rededication was held on Sunday 1st May 2016.
